Eating is one of the few pleasures in life. Apart from the nourishment we get from food, a good meal lifts ones spirits and mood .
I remember having a good curry, I felt so full afterwards and remained full for the rest of the day.
My curry is usually with brown rice, which is the reason I remain fuller for longer.
Food group does play a big part in how often we eat. So what type food should we be eating?
New Research published in the journal Appetite has found that opting for more healthful foods, such as salads, may be more important than the amount of food that we eat.
The research further found that choosing high calorie dense food in low potions, maybe the reason we become hungry soon after eating.
According to Medical New Today quote below:
The findings are particularly significant given that people who want to lose weight are often told that eating “a bit of everything” helps, as long as the food is consumed in moderation.
On the contrary, the new research seems to suggest that opting for more nutritious, low-calorie foods is far more important than trying to eat less.
My suggestion is to aim to always eat for nutrition. Have a healthy plate with a combination of the right food group.
Have as much fruits and vegetables as you can. They are packed with vitamins.
Aim for a rain bow selection this will ensure your intake of different selection of fruits vegetables.
You will be enriching your body if you adopt this approach to eating.
Watch out out for the next post where we explore the different food groups and their benefits.
